The “medicalization” of this removed constitutional protections and when these were first implemented some voiced concerns that “treatment” could evolve into an an abusive system of oppression that “discipline ” would never be able to achieve. They were right and it is well in its way. The medical profession is entering a stagnant dictatorial monarchy and when “addiction medicine” is accepted as a specialty it will be a dark age indeed as they will impose this on everyone. And no ones talking about it.
